Alright I am incredibly guilty of not doing this blog thing so well... I haven't fully mastered the blogging with ease and still found it cumbersome. So what do I do? I gave up on it :::bad Felicia:::. In an effort to not form bad habits (giving up on things, not blogging), I am taking it up again. Will try and be a little more proactive (as in self-starter and not acne remedy creams) and get to doing this.
So in order to catch up, here is a synopsis of our lives since we last spoke... at HALLOWEEN. Yeesh.
THANKSGIVING 2009
David and I always vowed that we would not travel on Thanksgiving. No offense to our families but it is just so chaotic. You travel two days and that only leaves you with two days. And my hatred of LAX is exponentially larger since living in Nashville so the Southwest terminal there is avoided at all costs. Luckily this year our fellow CA transplant friends (the Hernandezes and future Kirchners) were around as well. So happy to not cook a turkey for only 2 peeps!
The spread... wish I had a shot of the whole turkey. This was the first year I used the W&S Free-Ranged Willie Bird and it was a beauty!

I LOVE this picture... the momma looks happy... lil' Aiden looks happy... and well, there's my baby trying to get in on the action as well. Oh Butters...

I don't know what David is doing here... but we'll go with it.

Lil' man Aiden... look out ladies, he'll be a heartbreaker.

A little blurry but I still love this picture. The married folks with their babies.

Mr. Dave trying to teach Aiden the ways of Metallica. Oh boy.

Christmas 2009
As a result of traveling way too much this year for about half a dozen weddings and our own wedding festivities, we decided to spend our first Christmas as a married couple here at home. While we missed or families, I DID NOT miss the aforementioned LAX experience.
It doesn't matter what the occasion, we always find a way to torture the dog. Hope we aren't the same way with our future kids.

Right before Christmas, the BIL Greg and his fiance Keri came out for a wedding in Maryville. You can't tell in this picture, but it was COLD!

Note: David usually likes to make weird faces in pictures, so when I can get a good one I am all for it!

Sorry keri, I had to post this. It was too good. I call it "Texas Roadhouse Keri."

The boys and the tree. This was the second tree of the year. The first one dried up pretty fast. I think the kid at Home Depot didn't cut the base. When I told this story to the independent tree farm guy we got our 2nd tree at, he made me feel bad for buying it from "the man." Apparently Home Depot is "the man."

Presents time...

Clearly happy for underwear.

As David and I were opening presents, we noticed the dog had been gone for awhile. We go upstairs to discover this. He had already tore into his new toy and the scattered stuffing is the proof.

There were a lot of presents under the tree, mainly for Butters.

If anyone is familiar with Loveless, apparently they use the ham bones to make dog bones. Butters finished one of these off before the morning was over. He then proceeded to drink like 3 bowls of water.

He told me to make a really excited face. This is my excited face.

Sitting next to Uncle Jeff, all tuckered out.

This is how we found him later on that day. Clearly exhausted from the celebrations!

My Birthday 2010
Another year older, another year wise.... never mind. :)
So to preface, I am not a pink person. No offense to anyone who is, it's just not "me." But the ongoing joke every year now has been the mocking of this fact by the local bakeries. Every year David gets me a red velvet cake and every year he tells the people to decorate it with red icing. And every year thus far is has come back pink. Really?!?! Oh well, it's super yummy nonetheless.

For the record, we're not the "cutesy" kind of people. The "bunny" thing was an ongoing joke through the years and the name just stuck.
... Again, torturing the dog.

Fun celebrations with all of the CA-transplants at Virago. Sushi and sake for all... (except you Aiden)

The Maslan Wedding
Another year, another wedding! It was so much fun to be back in LA and have another reason to see all of my wonderful girlfriends and catch-up. We are slowly but surely more and more scattered so when we can get everyone together, it is so much fun. Alas, the weekend was so busy that I only have this one picture of all the girls at the wedding. Note two things 1) how gorgeous is the bride!!! and 2) David had to stay home for this wedding so the hot chick-a-dee in blue was my lesbian date for the night.
Love these ladies!

Snow Days 2010
We recently got hit by a pretty gnarly (yes I said gnarly) snow storm. It dumped a good 1/2 foot of snow in one day. It wouldn't have been as bad if it was not followed up by a ice and sleet storm. As a result, the snow compacted and turned into solid ice. Fun (not so much). So we were stuck indoors for a few days as we let the braver few drive through the roads to clear it up for the rest of us.

Phew... for a non-blogger that was a lot of blogging at one time. Learned my lesson, if I do it in small chunks perhaps it's less painful. It looks like the hubulator and I will be acquiring a DSLR soon as well so excited to play with that and hopefully post some better quality pictures. Until next time... and remember... hmmm, what can you remember... how about this one: Only you can prevent forest firers. :::Thanks Smokey:::
