NYC

So a few months back we were watching something on TV and David had mentioned that he had never been to NYC before... I don't know why I never knew this. And as you would expect, I found it entirely unacceptable. So I started to do a little research and realized that the weekend before his birthday, the Yankees were playing our hometown Angels, it was one of the last weekends of the Tim Burton exhibit at the Moma and I was able to get show tickets to "In the Heights." The perfect David weekend there all packaged into one. So the wheels were set and I got to planning. I even got in cahoots with his parents and got him the DSLR he had been eyeing so he could have it on the trip. Needless to say he was shocked and excited. Below are some snapshots from the trip. As a disclaimer, David was in charge of the camera so please excuse the pictures of me by myself (I have not fallen into a pool of narcissism). No pictures from the Moma, the show or nights out as the paparazzi camera didn't really go well with the nice attire. But for anyone interested and will be in the area Veritas and Gotham Bar & Grill were simply amazing. Yum!

PS: Sorry for the abnormal amount of pictures on this post. It's more for family asking for pictures :).

Fifth Ave... little did David know the kind of damage to be done here later.

Taxi... and no this was not the infamous ride with the obscene body odor. The driver's... not ours.

Note to sales reps. If you call my cell phone and I tell you I am on vacation and you can hear me getting out of a cab, struggling to pay the driver and then almost eating it on the sidewalk... please do not proceed with your sales pitch. Save it for Monday when I am back in the office.

St. Patrick's. I know, I know, it seems sacrilegious to take pictures inside a church but everyone else was doing it. And yes, apparently if everyone was jumping off a building...

I was trying to find the whispering corner inside GC but instead was forced into a rather awkward conversation with this Hal Halbrook lookalike. Notice my awkward smile. The conversation ended with him saying, "I wish I had a business card on me so you could get a hold of me." Ummmm, for what?!?!? Creepy.

And no, I did not buy Yankee attire. I know how upsetting that would be to many I know.

Lil' boy at the ballpark. This was before he dropped his ice cream cone on the floor and threw a fit. Kidding. Maybe.

Brooklyn Bridge. Direct quote from David as he was going across, "Hey, that's where Godzilla got stuck." Ummm yes honey, Aaron would be so proud.

China town... not as fun on the weekdays when creepy strangers aren't whispering "Gucci, Prada, Chanel" in your ears. Ha!

Magnolia Bakery. And yes, I ate one on the spot and David let me walk all the up to Chelsea with frosting on my face. Classy.

Radio City Music Hall... the Dalai Llama is supposed to be there in May. Hopefully sans Rockettes. That'd be weird.

Wish I had pictures from the many other things but alas, the person who is willing to schlep the heavy camera around is the person who gets to take the pictures :).
